Por otra parte, una gran cantidad de personas creé que esta canción se la dedica su autor, José Luis Perales, a su hija, antes de que ella contrajera nupcias.

¿Cuál es la historia real de este éxito que se entrenó en el año 1982, convirtiendo a Perales en uno de los artistas más populares de aquel año?

Pues la primera, pero hay una historia detrás de esto y que involucra a otro artista, Julio Iglesias.

Resulta que José Luis Perales, quien por cierto, ya se retiró de los escenarios, , es más compositor que cantante, y por aquellos años, Julio, estaba de cabanga, porque su exmujer, Isabel Preysler, se había vuelto a casar, por lo que le pidió a su amigo que le preparara una canción para demostrarle a su amada lo que sentía.

Perales accedió a la solicitud y escribió la canción que todos conocemos, pero nunca pudo entregársela a Julio Iglesias, ya que la disquera consideró que era tan buena, que debía ser cantada por su artista, quien no estaba muy a gusto con esa idea…

José Luis Perales consideraba que Julio podía imprimirle el verdadero sentimiento con el que fue hecha “Y cómo es él”, pues era él, quien estaba sufriendo una situación parecida, pero la disquera fue clara en su posición.

Al final de cuentas, la canción fue incluida en un disco doble sencillo, algunos los recodarán, se les llamaba también “de 45 revoluciones”, cuyo título es: “Entre el agua y el fuego” y que también incluiría la canción: “Qué pasará mañana”.

Sobre la versión de que “Y cómo es él” trata sobre María, hija de Perales, el mismo artista ha desmentido este mito, indicando que cuando escribió la canción, ella apenas tenía 3 años de edad.
