Using remote play can be a great way for gamers to continue a game away from the TV screen when other household members want to watch or do something else. As such, this guide has been updated to include another method for players to get the PSN ID for Chiaki4Deck. For streamers, this update also outlines a method that can be used to enhance performance.

How To Install Chiaki4Deck On The Steam Deck

To enable remote play from the PlayStation 5 to the Steam Deck, users must install a program called Chiaki4Deck. It's better optimized for remote playing games than the original version of Chiaki, as it should run PS5 titles without requiring any tinkering with the settings. Use the following steps to install Chiaki4Deck:

• Press the Steam button underneath the left trackpad.
• Select Power.
• Switch the Steam Deck to Desktop Mode.
• In Desktop Mode, connect a keyboard and mouse like a PC.

• Select the Discovery tab - the icon that looks like a shopping bag.
• Type in Chiakra.
• Select Chiaki4Deck and install it.

Activate Remote Play On The PS5

• With Chiaki installed, enable the Remote Play feature on the PS5.

Logging Into The PlayStation Network On Steam Deck

• Open a browser in the Steam Deck's Desktop Mode.

• A new page saying redirect will appear. Copy the URL above the redirected trinket page and paste it as per the image's instructions below.

• The trinket page will run a script and provide the user with an Account ID on the last line.

• If Trinket doesn't work, try getting your PSN Account ID from FlipScreen Games.

• Copy the Encoded ID for Chiaki.
• Highlight and copy the Account ID.
• Paste it into the PSN Account ID box on Chiaki4Deck.
• Go to the PS5 Remote Play screen and select Link Device to get a temporary PIN.
• Enter the PIN without spaces.
• Select OK and wait for the PS5 to register.

How To Add Chiaki4Deck To The Steam Library

With the Steam Deck and PS5 connected, users will want to use Chiaki in the Steam Deck's gaming mode. The following steps can be used to add Chiaki to the Steam library:

• Go back to the Chiaki page and select the controller icon.
• Customize the layout or select from a list of premade setups from Community Creations.
• Click on the current controller layout and press R1 to highlight Community Creations.
