Amid rumors about a possible divorce from husband Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is staying booked and busy. Earlier this month, the singer co-chaired the Met Gala and now she’s promoting her new sci-fi film Atlas, which drops on May 24 on Netflix. But according to her trainer, Dodd Romero, she’s not slowing down with her workout routines either, as she preps for her summer concert series 'This Is Me...Now: The Tour.'

It’s clear there’s no slowing the 54-year-old down (take this Instagram of her chiseled abs during a dance rehearsal as proof). In fact, she's doing better than ever.

“Jennifer’s in better shape than she’s ever been,” Dodd told Us Weekly. “She’s tough and really doesn’t ever complain about anything. Wherever I tell her to go, she’ll go.”

J.Lo’s gym routine is something to behold, and she regularly drops snippets from her sweat sessions on Instagram. J.Lo doesn't mess around when it comes to core strength. Her typical ab workout starts with a set of 50 hanging ab raises, 50 rope crunches, and 50 incline sit ups with a 45-pound plate, her trainer told O, the Oprah Magazine in 2019. The operative word here is starts... Here's the Jennifer Lopez abs workout in its entirety.

Set 1: 50 hanging ab raises. 50 rope crunches. 50 incline sit-ups with a 45 pound plate.

Set 2 : Everything from the first set but with 35 reps.

Set 3: Same thing, but with 21 reps this time.

In March 2024, J.Lo casually dropped video of herself doing a full-body workout outside on Instagram, and it appears to be surprisingly doable. In the video, Jenny can be seen working through eight exercises to target her arms, legs, and core, all with the help of a set of dumbbells and a yoga mat.

Jennifer works out three days a week with her trainer Dodd Romero, where the two focus on resistance training. Each session includes three sets of hanging ab raises, rope crunches, and weighted sumo-style plié squats. He also focuses on toning her glutes with a supportive lunge, he told Us Weekly.

Ever since becoming a mom to twins Emme and Max, 16, J.Lo has been using the Tracy Anderson Method to stay toned. The program is made up of leg pulses and box step-ups, all while wearing 1.5-pound ankle weights.

And yes: Jennifer works out with Tracy herself. (See this snap for proof that they're close.) “We do a 10-move leg program focusing on the glutes and the cinching of the waist,” Tracy told Us Weekly in 2024. "Moving is part of Jennifer’s core values. She does what she needs to do."

Consistency is key when it comes to maintaining strength, endurance, and yes, abs. So Jennifer "very rarely skips a workout," she revealed to Us Weekly in 2015. Five years laters, she told the publication she likes to break a sweat “first thing in the morning,” no matter the day. “I try to make good choices and balance my time,” she adds.

One of her trainers, David Kirsch, confirmed as much to People in 2017: "She’s gifted with an incredible amount of physical energy, but also this beautiful amount of mental and emotional energy. She’s very connected to her body, and she’s got crazy discipline."

Lack of sleep doesn’t help anyone, and that’s a fact that J.Lo is well aware of. “The number one tip is to always get enough sleep,” she told InStyle, per Grazia. “I can’t stress this enough. Ideally I would love to get nine or 10 hours of sleep, but either way, I always make sure I get at least eight.”

That dedication to her sleep schedule was brought on by a bad experience. “There was a time in my life where I used to sleep three to five hours a night,” she said in a 2022 newsletter, per Us Weekly. But one day, she said she felt “frozen” from all of the work, stress, and lack of sleep. “I thought I was losing my mind," she added. "Now I know it was a classic panic attack brought on by exhaustion."

While J.Lo’s workout routine is accompanied by a balanced diet, she doesn’t limit herself from treats on occasion. “As you get older, you have to be more strict,” her trainer Dodd Romero tells Us Weekly. “[But] if her kids want to have a meal that isn’t the lowest in calories, Jennifer will have the meal with them.”

In 2019, Dodd told the publication that the singer doesn’t have alcohol or caffeine, in addition to drinking “a minimum of seven glasses of water a day.” He added that she typically stays clear of processed foods.
