FTCC offers 300+ academic awards, including associate degrees, diplomas and certificates in nine broad subject areas: Business, Computer Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare, Human Service Technology, Media and Fine Arts, Public Safety, Skilled Trades, and University Transfer. FTCC also provides economic and workforce development courses and other training through our corporate and continuing education programs. Purpose Statement

The purpose of Fayetteville Technical Community College is to provide affordable vocational-technical, business and industry, general education, college transfer, and continuing education programs, which meet the needs and desires of its diverse students and the economic development needs for the community, region, and state. To improve the educational attainment levels of society, FTCC encourages life-long learning and strives to prepare students for further workforce and educational experiences.

  • FTCC is a public, state-supported, two-year, comprehensive communitycollegeserving Fayetteville and Cumberland County, North Carolina.

  • Established in 1961 as the Fayetteville Area Industrial Education Center, FTCC includes a 150-acre Fayetteville campus, a 10-acre Spring Lake campus, a location in the Liberty Training and Education Center (LTEC) on Fort Liberty, and various outlying educational centers.

  • In 2022-23, FTCC had 13,769 curriculum students, 15,986 continuing education students and 1,240 employees.

A Brief History

Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) enjoys a rich history that started through the vision of concerned business leaders in Cumberland County. They recognized the need for a local institution to provide job training for area industries and educational opportunities for high school graduates and adult learners.

From that vision and through the perseverance of these leaders, the Fayetteville Area Industrial Education Center (IEC) was established in 1961 at the old Central Elementary School.
